The photos are from an older project from a photography class. Essentially creating a world using dried food, and objects to create worlds, or dreamscapes. Either word applies.
The concept was based on an observation that the street photographs I take often look nothing like the actual location. It was not much of a leap to realize that photos have little real connection to the physical locations the image was captured from.
With that notion, it was a short hop to creating one's own world using models. It took longer to understand that physically building the model was not necessary also.
All one has to make are edges, shapes and shadows; and, the brain fills in the details. A curious thing about people, once they know what something looks like they see the memory instead of the reality, even if the thing is their own face in the mirror.
Perhaps, this is one of the foundations of Art. Maybe. Doesn't really help me in making stuff, but it helps me understand other artists work.
