This particular project is taking forever, simply because there is no deadline for it. I'm finding, to my surprise, that choosing a deadline actually produces more creative results as I am desperate to finish. But, that is hard to accomplish when I am the one setting deadlines.
The point of this painting is simply to explore warm colors.
It is not a peaceful painting. There is a lot going on visually.
There are layers peeking through.
Textures are juxtaposed.
Thick over thin.....of course.......that is the classic technique to avoid cracking.
It's not really representational, although at this point something is vaguely present.
Honestly I am not sure where to go with this unless I can add shading.
To what purpose?
Well, I didn't have a defining purpose for this one.
My motivation.
That's easy.
Curiosity.
